The sideboard designed by Xenofon Hector Grigorelis, named "Asa," is a unique and custom-made piece that draws inspiration from the Indian art of tattoos. The front of the sideboard features a design reminiscent of Mehndi, a traditional decorative scripture used for religious reasons. This intricate design is a testament to the absolute detail and unique properties in both construction and design.
The sideboard is digitally designed using CAD and 3D modeling software. It can be produced in MDF surface in a range of colors. The front doors are made of lacquered wood with a printed pattern, while the internal structure is polished lacquered. The legs and frame are made of satin or polished aluminum, adding a touch of sophistication to the overall design.
With dimensions of 2500X520X790mm, the sideboard is a combination of two 12mm thick MDF panels, resulting in a total thickness of 240mm. This unique construction detail adds to the overall structure and visual appeal of the sideboard. The doors are available in a printed pattern slide or open in a combination of five different colors or in black and white. Inside the cabinet, there are shelves and drawers with special opening mechanisms. The legs are made of satin or polished aluminum, providing stability and elegance.
The primary function of the sideboard is as a storage unit, but its simplicity and imposing form make it a powerful piece of decoration for any contemporary or traditional house. It marries tradition with modern life, showcasing the transformation from something old into something new. With a hint of elegance, the "Asa" sideboard adds a touch of sophistication to any space.
